Explicit or implied cookie consent mode

You can use an explicit or implied cookie consent mode for your cookie banner. Go to your CookieScript user account > Settings > Main settings. Here you will find CONSENT MODE, where you can choose between explicit or implied cookie consent modes.

  1. Explicit consent mode means that no cookies are set up until the user agrees to use cookies. Explicit consent mode should be used as a default since it is a requirement under GDPR and other privacy laws.
Explicit consent mode will lead to the following cookie compliance results:
    Regulation Cookie compliance
    GDPR Compliant
    CCPA Compliant
    LGPD Compliant
    CNIL Compliant
  2. Implied consent mode means that all cookies are set up until the user disagrees to use cookies. In this case, your website will collect website users' personal data, but your cookie banner will not be GDPR compliant. Implied consent mode will lead to the following cookie compliance results:

    Regulation Cookie compliance
GDPR Non-compliant. Consent should involve an affirmative act.
    CCPA Compliant
LGPD Non-compliant. Consent should involve an affirmative act.
CNIL Non-compliant. Consent should involve an affirmative act.

It is recommended to use explicit cookie consent mode to be all major privacy laws compliant.
